Garden Gallery
The Garden Gallery features photographs of several gardens that I have worked on over the years. Some
were designed from the ground up and others were gardens that were already in place and just needed a
little "sprucing up", pun intended. You will notice that some are quite mature, with lush, full plantings while
others are newer jobs that still need a few seasons to reach their full potential. Either way, I hope this
gallery gives you some inspiration for your own gardens. If you would like my assistance in the creation or
re-design of your garden, please feel free to contact me at info@troybmarden.com
My friends Leann and Jay's garden, which I consult on as needed. Leann is a talented gardener in her
own right. We've had great fun on this project and it continues to grow and change each season.
This private garden in Leipers Fork, Tennessee was designed by Page, Duke & Associates (formerly
Ben Page & Associates) of Nashville, Tennessee. I was called in as the consultant on the cutting
garden, which completely surrounds the labyrinth. The homeowner grew all of the cutting flowers
herself, from seed, in her greenhouse and I assisted with the design and layout. I can't wait to see how
this garden continues to grow and develop.
Below is another private garden in Nashville that I have worked on for a number of years. The owner is
an amazing gardener, a serious plant enthusiast and has become a very good friend, as well.
The border by the pool. Private Garden, Brentwood, TN
This garden borders the parking lot of Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Nashville. It's a small
space, but as you can see we do our best to make it pack a lot of punch. The garden is about 80 feet
long and about 6 feet wide with a hedge of 'Knockout' roses behind it. Our goal is always to have a
brilliant, traffic-stopping display of color from May through October. In winter, the architecture of the
fastigiate hornbeams stands out against the city skyline. The greatest compliment is that each time I
am there, I see people from nearby office buildings strolling the sidewalk or the edge of the parking lot
on their break or lunch hour enjoying the garden.
