Photo Gallery
Photography continues to be an exciting hobby for me; a different kind of creative outlet.  It allows
me to express my creativity in a different kind of format and it allows me to look at my own design
work from a much more critical perspective.  This is a gallery of images I have taken over the past
few years since "going digital".  Though photography is primarily a hobby for me, I have had images
published and am working on a series of photos that will eventually be offered for sale in various
formats.  For photos of my gardens and design work, please visit the Garden Gallery.

One foggy day on the Natchez Trace.  This was more than fog, actually.  It was a very eerie day when
the clouds themselves never lifted from the valley.  Quite a surreal experience.
These images were taken in Montreal.  The first two at the Farmer's Market and the others at a garden
exhibit called "Flora", on the abandoned site of an old grain elevator.  The gardens were modern and most
impressive, even if they weren't completely practical.  What a fabulous bit of inspiration!
I'm very fortunate in that I get to travel some as part of what I do.  The following images were taken on a trip
to Ohio during the summer of 2007 for the annual symposium of the Perennial Plant Association.  There are
always several incredibly good garden tours and these were photos that I snapped along the way.
One of the best things about belonging to "industry" groups like the Perennial Plant Association and the
Garden Writers Association are the tours.  Often, we get to see homes and gardens that the general public
never have the opportunity to visit.  The home below is a case in point.
I love to get the camera out and get creative.  Mostly, I just shoot whatever I'm feeling at the moment.  The
images below are from some of those times when I'm just out with the camera and shooting with no specific
purpose in mind.  Others were just products of "happenstance".  The first shot in the series is of
Griffinia
'Supreme', a plant I bought at an auction a few years back and that has proven to be an outstanding
houseplant, flowering reliably each summer with numerous lavender-blue blossoms.
